Valerie Bowman grew up as an Army brat living in and savoring many foreign cultures. When her father retired, her family settled in Virginia where she met her husband, Bill. They started a construction business in 1970 where Valerie handled finances, did design work, and project managed the remodeling of kitchen and bath projects. She has two sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and six lively grandchildren.
